- Jazz, Cheese & Sherry is a music and food combination, with a cheese tasting evening at an establishment that has injected new life into the neighbourhood surrounding the Conde Duque Cultural Centre

- Amaniel Big Band will offer a journey through the history of jazz on Saturday 14 February

Conde Duque Cultural Centre is participating in the Gastrofestival, a culinary event organised by Madrid City Council through the municipal company Madrid Destino and Madrid Fusión. It comprises a programme of musical events, including the revival of two food-themed tonadillas whose scores are held at the venue’s Historic Municipal Library.

Next week sees two highly anticipated “gastromusical” events

Jazz, Cheese & Sherry takes place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 February at 8pm in the Conde Duque’s Sala Polivalente. The public can enjoy a concert and tasting evening, with jazz, cheese and sherry, celebrating cultural and artisanal savoir-faire. This initiative welcomes the collaboration of the cheese shop Quesería Conde Duque, one of the foodie establishments that has breathed new life into the neighbourhood around Conde Duque. Music is provided by the Alberto Vilas jazz quartet.

The concert promises to be a unique sensory experience, allowing the audience to sample fine cheese and wine to the sound of six different jazz pieces. Six artisan cheeses are presented, made by cheesemakers Félix Iniesta, Ramón Lizeaga, Ángel Valeriano Rojo, Gregoria Martínez Diego, Pere Pujol and Rubén Valbuena. All cheeses are paired with wines by González Byass.

As is custom at Conde Duque, cultural and social associations from the local area will feature in the programme. On this occasion, Amaniel Big Band will be taking us on a journey through the history of jazz on Saturday 14 February at 8pm in the Conde Duque Auditorium. Free entry subject to available seating; invitations must be picked up in advance. /
