The eighth edition of the most eagerly-awaited event in the capital’s calendar now has its dates confirmed. Gastrofestival Madrid 2017 will be held between 21st January and 5th February and will once again be filling Madrid with all kinds of culinary attractions, showcasing the quality and variety of Madrid’s cuisine, which is one of its greatest tourist attractions.

Madrid City Council, through the Tourism Department of Madrid Destino, and Madrid Fusión are hosting the event, which every year features an increasingly comprehensive programme thanks to the collaboration of restaurants, bars, markets, shops, bookshops, museums, cultural spaces and chefs. These are attractions that allow people to discover gastronomy and enjoy its links to various artistic disciplines, such as film, art, music, fashion and theatre.

In 2017, the Conde Duque Arts Centre will be repeating its role as the cultural focal point of this culinary festival which will invite both visitors and the people of Madrid to learn more about the culinary arts. For two whole weeks people will be able to enjoy tastings, workshops, music and films related to gastronomy in its exhibition rooms and theatre. Municipal markets will be another one of the star attractions this year.

Special attractions to suit everyone
The food festival will once again be offering six different programmes to allow people to savour Madrid: Gastronomic Madrid, Gastroculture, Sensory Experiences, Gastrofashion, Gastrohealth and Wine Culture.

“Gastronomic Madrid” will include Dinner Four Hands as one of its attractions, where leading international chefs will take to the kitchen of renowned restaurants and prepare exquisite “four-hand” meals. The traditional “Degustatapas” tapas tasting events, “Rioja wine in our favourite bars” and special menus can all be enjoyed in bars and restaurants across the city. “Gastroculture” will be featuring special activities at galleries, museums, bookshops, arts centres and theatres.

“Sensory Experiences” will be a must for lovers of culinary adventures, those who are looking for environmentally friendly and healthy ideas will find them in “Gastrohealth” and wine aficionados won’t want to miss the “Wine Culture” events.
